Baladina Egyptian Dance Theatre
Baladina was founded in 2006 by Karim Tonsy and Erika Ochoa. The company’s style of movement is based in classical and modern dance. There are also strong elements of jazz and belly dance blended with traditional and folklore Egyptian and African tribal dance techniques throughout every performance.
In a fast moving modern world, we are presenting our fused dance style but keeping the basis of our inspiration in Afro-Egyptian cultural themes and soil. The company’s ultimate goal is to bring east and west together into one world while highlighting the richness of middle eastern art forms and african history

Lincoln Park, Sunday October 29th as part of the Partnership Walk (free concert) with guest dancers!! What is the Partnership Walk? Partnership Walk is a public event to raise awareness about how people can make a difference in ending global poverty. Partnership Walk promotes partnerships among Americans and people in the developing world.
Millenium Park, Friday August 25th at noon at the Wrigley Plaza as part of the Silk Road Festival, (free concert) with guest dancers!! Will perform traditional dances representing the cultures found at the starting point and destination of the historic Silk Road.
